Bupa Great North Run
The Bupa Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world with over 50,000 competitors taking to the streets of Newcastle.
Our Banana Army is out in force every year, all in our famous yellow t-shirts so no one can miss us! Our TV Times celebrity team with stars from popular TV shows like Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Gavin and Stacey will be running with you too. The atmosphere on the day is hard to beat. Whether this is your first half marathon or your tenth, you’ll love this event.
We want you to join our team! If you already have a place and want to fundraise for us, get in touch now.

About this event
We support all of our runners with a running t-shirt, a fundraising pack and there’s always a friendly person on the end of the phone to offer advice and encouragement. On the day we’re there to cheer you on, and then come and recover in our post-race marquee with fellow Banana Army runners.
This year we’re celebrating our 50th anniversary, and the north east is very special to us as it was a family in Middlesbrough who started fundraising after they tragically lost their daughter. Read their story here. What a brilliant birthday present if we had the biggest team in the Great North Run this year!
All runners are invited to our post-race marquee. There will be refreshments and the opportunity to have your photo taken. This year we are in marquee number 1.
